There is good and bad in every race. There is racism in every race. The main reason the black/white racism is so concentrated on is because of our past history with one another. No its not right for the fox network to allow the comments that some of these people have made to continue. That being said.. I’d like to address Laurens little “Uncle Tom, Mamie..etc” issue…by the way at 17 I would expect you to know how to spell “Father.” Anyway, the definition of an “Uncle Tom”..as I have always understood it to be anyway…is a black person who would go so far as to undermine and/or insult his own race possibly to even the point of hating his own race in order to gain favor with white acquaintances. Someone who has forgotten where they’ve come from and looks down on those who have the same lifestyle they had once. Perhaps even be more quick to help a white person before a black person simply because of color. As far as ghettos go..There are some people who are doing the best that they can. So what if they are living in the ghetto? You cant judge them based on that..and if you do want to go so far as to do that then the same could be said for trailer parks and white people. I’ve seen quite a few ghettos and 98% of the people that I’ve met there are all working their asses off to try and get out…trying to better themselves. I’ve met some of the most articulate, intelligent and respectable people who work hard, go to school and keep themselves up very well. Looking at and talking with these people you’d never think for a second that they’re going home to a ghetto neighborhood…thats where being judgmental comes into play. Most people expect ghetto residents to be illiterate and…for lack of better a word..dumb. I’ll be the first to say that I thought that people who resided in ghettos and trailer parks were people who wanted nothing for themselves also. You can only imagine how fucking stupid I felt when I saw how incredibly wrong I was. Their conditions may not be all that great by many peoples standards, but they take pride and are thankful for what they DO have. Now I’ll give you that you have those fools who could care less and instead of trying to help make their neighborhood better they trash it and possibly even make it an unsafe place to live. However, they are NOT a reflection of the entire race. The black race is, in my opinion, very beautiful. Full of different shapes and colors. Also the most imitated race. As much as people will tell you differently, with us now having a black president and all, racism is still very much alive. Maybe not to the point of lynching and hanging, in most areas anyway, but still thriving. Someone once said “Look for the bad in people and you’ll find it.” With all the negative things so focused on you miss the good qualities. Despite what some people thing the black race is very hard working…take note that this does not apply to every black person..but most. We have to be. Like it or not most likely a white person WILL be hired for that job that that black man just put in an application for before he will. So we have to be twice as good. As cliche as it sounds, all i ask is that you dont look at someone and the first thing you see is their skin color. I wont say dont judge others, because thats just human nature..but keep an open mind..and make sure you’re focused on THAT individual. Try not to base your judgments of a person on others actions and remember that EVERYONE is different..That goes for everything not just for ethnicity. I have people that i dislike in every race..but just that person..and because of their actions or words towards me personally not because of their pigmentation. I wish that these so called adults that we are watching on this video and everyone else who thinks like this of ANY race would go back to childhood logic. When a child sees another child they dont see black, white, hispanic, asian… they just see another playmate…..but then I guess the world would just be too perfect then now wouldnt it? God forbid…
I just read Shameikas comment..I know which book you’re talking about and was shocked when I read it. Shocked, yet not so much because I can see how its effect is still taking its toll. As much as I hate to say it Lynch perfected the method of creating the perfect slave. What better way to break a groups spirit than to have them break each others? To the person above Shameika..you’re absolutely right..it IS a mental state. The sooner the black people who ARE still under this spell realize whats going on, the better. It might be hard to completely change a thinking pattern seeing as thats how most are raised. You can see it in how light-skinned and dark-skinned black Americans sometimes act towards one another. I’ve had dark-skinned friends who told me that before they got to know me they thought that I was stuck up because supposedly most light-skinned black people are. Thats was the first time in my life I had ever heard about that. Then in high school I used to get teased because of my complexion. Girls would tell me that “I wanted to be white” or “That I think I’m white and act white.” In the end most of us ended up friends but it was still strange thinking that there are people who look at me and think I’m stuck up or that I look down on them because I’m light-skinned. Now don’t get me wrong I’ve met the sort who think that light skin puts them higher than everyone else…why? I’ll never know. Nevermind, I do. A quick observation would be that the closer to white you are the better…so it gives a twisted sense of superiority. I guess I just never saw things that way. I just see someone who is trying to make it just like I am. It’s enough having to fight for where we’re trying to go, the last thing we need to be doing is tripping each other up along the way.

ok. lets be honest people why is it when i get on the bus. white people feel more comfortable sitting next to me being white the the blacks? and why are blacks more comfortable withe the blacks over the white? its true. both sides are guilty. blacks have been proven to be just as racist as whites. the difference here is… i cant walk down certain streets because im white. im scared sometimes to be honest. i was woken up to gun shots last week. black man killed another black man over drugs. bullets went through my building and killed a young white boy. it didnt even make the paper. the same week, a white man ran over an elder black man at night and the the man lived to see his face on the local front page paper.

Unfourtunately this world will forever have “racism” because as religion has taught us, we need to strive to be like God (although it states that we will never be) but that is the point. If we cant be a “God” them we just need to be “better” than the next, you know, strive for perfection. As long as jesus is white, then the whites feel more privledged, and when we have this pyramid of “superior races” then obviously the percieved lower races will not comply and act out, look at your children when they reach puberty, they want to be adults and do all the things that adults do, and when mom and dad say no what do they do…. act out. Blacks would be equally scared to walk in a certain area (as they can be now in many parts of this country– your story is fallacy danho) if whites were the history long repressed minority. Whites sit next to whites and blacks sit next to blacks in your neck of the woods because that is what they are socialized to do (as you are starting to see-stated in your last paragraph).
Furthermore, not to be cliche, but everything isnt in black and white, there are many ethnicities in this USofA. The more we continue to see the problem as black and white, the further we move away from eliminating this human made concept of “racism” because from a cellular level, there is no distiction of race…. only human. Once we can accomplish this, then maybe we can live as the figures of every major religion have expressed in their teachings…love. And with 80+% of our population (including black,white, latino, asian, and i can go on…) beliving in a “God” why dont we follow the ideologies of our faiths? wake up people, all of our days are numbered, do we really want to spend any of them unhappy?
