Documentary Researcher/Associate Producer

Brave New Films seeks an experienced researcher to join the production team for a feature length documentary.

Applicants must have prior experience doing investigative work. The ideal candidate will also have an aptitude for storytelling, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Extensive background and investigative research. Research topics include policy issues, federal, state, and local legislation, financial information, and contact information

  • Detailed fact checking

  • Finding visuals to support your research (video, photos)

  • Providing support to production team

 

Qualifications:

  • At least three years experience doing detailed research for documentaries or investigative journalism 

  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent news and source judgement 

  • General knowledge and love of politics. Please be tapped into the political scene 

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • High level of computer literacy 

  • Cold calling and production experience a plus
