Jesse Lava is a campaign director at Brave New Foundation, where he promotes social justice by producing videos, writing articles, engaging social media, and forging partnerships with advocacy groups. Previously a communications strategist for progressive causes, his work has covered an array of policy areas including climate change, campaign finance, drug treatment, and funding for social services. His writing has been featured in media outlets such as the Huffington Post, AlterNet, Religion Dispatches, and Ethics Daily.
Jesse was also the founding director of Faithful Democrats, a group that worked to reclaim the national values debate from the Religious Right, and worked on elections in South Dakota and Kentucky. He has a master's in public policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and a bachelor's from Wesleyan University. Jesse is from Chicago and now lives in Venice, California.
