Maya Lilly arrived to BNF fresh off producing and researching for Amazon’s first theatrically distributed documentary, Wealth: The Influence of Affluence. It was shot around the world with renowned Emmy/Sundance/Clio winning director Lauren Greenfield (Queen of Versailles, Always’ Like a Girl campaign), and releases in 2017. Prior to that, Maya produced two PSAs for the Bernie Sanders campaign; The Big Fix, about the BP Gulf Oil Spill; and over 30 shorts and music videos for the Elevate Film Festival. She is currently in development on the beloved tv/film version of Starhawk’s The Fifth Sacred Thing. (Bantam) Maya is obsessed with the power of story, and has been since her performing arts school theatre upbringing led her to work on film as activism. She holds an MA in Environmental Security and Peace, and loves to nerd out about safe places to adapt to climate change. To Maya, the most vital thing is staying adaptable and grounded in these times of immense change.
