We’re looking for strong leadership and a knack for managing creative personalities, as you take on the management of a team of filmmakers, designers, researchers, and interns. Understanding the tech is extremely important.
Responsibilities:
- Develop video concepts in coordination with the President, Director of Campaigns and other departments
- Oversee physical production of short videos including:
- Assign research
- Approve budgets and schedules
- Write scripts and edit team members’ scripts
- Manage post production schedule
- Provide creative direction during editing
- Manage input and execute notes from other departments at each stage of production
- Maintain records archives for each project
- Lead collaborations on storyboards, designs and aesthetic look of videos
- Supervise Story Producer, Lead Editor, Graphics Designer, and additional Associate Producers and interns.
- Co-Supervise the Research Coordinator.
- Ability to take a hands-on role at any stage of production - writing, shooting and editing
- Take lead role in establishing culture of creativity, constructive criticism and high standards for aesthetics and ethics.
- Maintain consistency in branding and production quality.
- Advise post production team on technology and workflow
- Special projects as assigned by the President or Executive Director.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years as producer, executive producer, creative director or editor.
- Documentary and/or unscripted television production experience required.
- Interest in and demonstrated knowledge of contemporary politics, including the most pressing domestic and foreign policy issues.
- Proven track record of managing video production with links to completed works (see below)
- Proven experience both on set and in post production.
- Tech-savvy, with solid experience shooting and/or editing.
- Submission of completed pre-hire exercise.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps - especially Prelude, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
