We demand all U.S. Senators stand-up for the American people and oppose President-elect Donald Trump's atrocious nominees for Cabinet.
Trump made repeated promises to "drain the swamp" in D.C. Instead, with these nominations, he's cleared the path for a corporate takeover that does the exact opposite. These nominees do not represent the interests of the American people. If approved, this would be the most self-serving and wealthy Cabinet in U.S. history - with a combined estimated wealth of $8 billion!
Our communities are at-risk. People like Steve Mnuchin, former Goldman Sachs banker that profited off the housing crisis, do not deserve to be in the Cabinet - let alone as Secretary of the Treasury. Americans deserve leadership that represents them and their interests, not the interests of billionaires.
The road ahead will be difficult. Yet the Senate holds the key and the power to oppose Trump's Cabinet nominees. We need to apply pressure to our leaders and make our voices heard - we do not want people in office who do not represent us.
The most effective way to do something about this is to reach out directly, today. Tell your Senators to keep greed out of Washington, and out of the highest reaches of our government.
