Brave New Films champions social justice issues by using media to inspire, empower, motivate, engage and teach civic participation that makes a difference. Our goal is to support the active civic engagement of an informed citizenry by calling attention to important issues through non-partisan production and our ingenious multi-platform distribution network.
Brave New Films is seeking Interns for Spring 2020. These are paid positions and each will last at least 10-12 weeks, a minimum of 18 hours a week. Positions are for in-office work located in Culver City, CA.
Internships are available in the following departments:
Social Media: The distribution team is responsible for growing BNF’s presence and outreach on social media, devising strategies to increase traffic to BNF videos and website, launching new campaigns, managing BNF’s online profiles, building a fan base, and turning clicks into offline action. The Social Media Intern will assist the distribution team by curating and creating new, engaging content for active social media channels; monitoring trending topics; identifying relevant organizations for partnerships and promotion; and synthesizing analytics. Development: This is an ideal internship for someone that wishes to learn more about fundraising to pursue professional development within the nonprofit or political world. Additionally, this internship can facilitate skill building in digital media and marketing. This Internship is research intensive. Read More
Production (short documentaries): Work will be in our films production department where interns will assist in day to day production and research potential film subjects. Some travel to film shoots is also provided. Read More
Outreach: Interns will work closely with Outreach Director and Outreach Fellow and assist in the development and maintenance of the department's list of contact information for outreach to current and potential partner colleges, universities, high schools, and student organizations. Read More
For all the internships available, potential interns must:
- Currently be enrolled in a college program in a related field
- Have a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Exhibit a real passion for activism and social justice
- Have strong writing skills
- Have patience and flexibility
