Karen Reynolds is senior communications consultant with decades of experience in news and entertainment publicity with a passion for documentaries.

A “news junkie,” she most recently served as Director of Public Relations at CNN for 11 years. There, she helped launch CNN Original Series led by the Peabody and multiple Emmy-winning Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, for which she also acted as day-to-day publicist, as well as Inside Man with Morgan Spurlock and The Hunt with John Walsh. During that time, she also handled publicity for CNN Headline News (HLN) live programming and crime docuseries including a re-boot of Forensic Files.

She began her career as a journalist (Broadcasting & Cable magazine), but quickly realized that she wanted to work “in” the industry rather than “write” about it, and landed a publicist job at ABC-TV, moving from primetime programming to news and docs to the soap opera All My Children.

Following ABC, she held staff or consulting positions at numerous cable networks including US Network, SYFY, Nickelodeon, TRIO (which merged with Bravo), Sundance channel, Spike TV (now Paramount), Court TV (where she had the distinct pleasure of working on a series with famed director John Waters), and CNBC.

A voting member of BAFTA, she screens a plethora of films each year and is happy to make recommendations.
