Dear President Obama,

Thank you for making policy changes to the 1033 Program. 

There is no need for police to have weaponized aircraft and vehicles, grenade launchers, tracked armored vehicles, and bayonets!

These weapons and equipment were designed for military combat, not community policing. 

Thank you President Obama for acknowledging this and limiting the scope of the 1033 Program.  

There is still more that can be done to further reform the 1033 Program and promote community-oriented policing, but stopping some of the deadliest military grade equipment from begin transferred to police is a great first step.
