For ten years, Brave New Films has been creating media that makes an impact. We take on the toughest issues and expose the worst injustices - from war to mass deportation to overcriminalization. We focus on the stories that the mainstream media ignores and empower our followers to take action. The staff and volunteers at Brave New Films are motivated by one mission - to expose the truth to make the world a better place.
Our feature films and shorts have been distributed online, in theaters, in schools and universities, and at community screenings across the country. Films like Outfoxed and Walmart: The High Cost of Low Price changed the way America viewed Fox News and Walmart. Uncovered, Iraq For Sale, and Rethink Afghanistan confronted the military-industrial complex and exposed the major war profiteers. Our short series helped defeat John McCain's presidential bid and challenged the companies who make a profit off people getting sick.
But that was just the first five years….
Koch Brothers Exposed introduced America to the billionaire brothers trying to buy our democracy. We took that film to the Capitol and screened segments introduced by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Senator Bernie Sanders, and House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi.
War on Whistleblowers exposed the danger of silencing those who risked everything to tell the truth.
And Unmanned: America’s Drone Wars shows the human side of our reckless use of unmanned airstrikes across the globe. We brought drone strike survivors highlighted in the film to Washington, DC - where they became the first Pakistani drone survivors to speak directly to Congress.
Now, for the first time, our most recent films are available together in the 10th Anniversary Activist Collection. The collection includes the features, dozens of shorts, and special never-before-scene footage. Included is the best of our Cuéntame campaign, which gave young Latinos a voice in the fight for voting rights, better working conditions and fair immigration policy. The collection also includes Beyond Bars, our award-winning campaign to curb mass incarceration. Plus, many, many more shorts targeting war profiteering, veterans care and the fight for a living wage.
Our goal is to continue to make hard-hitting, investigative, completely independent media and distribute it for free all over the world. But we need your help. The proceeds from the sales of the activist collection go directly towards our efforts to tell the stories that matter and continue activating a new generation of Brave New Films fans. Make an impact.
