Do you care about social justice and democracy and want to make a difference?
Want to work for a nonprofit that reaches millions and impacts public policy?
Are you tired of being on the sidelines and yelling at the TV?
Do you want to turn your connections into meaningful action?
Brave New Films is seeking a freelance celebrity outreach professional with existing relationships and established contacts among celebrity agents, managers, publicists, and talent. This person will help connect Brave New Films’ social justice documentaries, films, and campaigns with celebrities who may be interested in supporting, promoting, or participating in our work.
We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about making a difference and wants to use their existing entertainment-industry relationships to create meaningful social change.
We are not looking for someone who will be building a contact list from scratch.
Applicants must already have established relationships within the entertainment industry and be able to demonstrate those connections. Previous experience working for a nonprofit is not required. What matters most is your existing network, your ability to put those relationships to work, and your commitment to making an impact.
Responsibilities
-
Identify and reach out to celebrities, actors, musicians, public figures, and other talent who align with specific Brave New Films projects and social justice campaigns.
-
Develop project-specific outreach strategies based on the goals, subject matter, and audiences of each campaign.
-
Track outreach, responses, commitments, and results, providing regular updates to the Brave New Films team.
Qualifications
-
Existing relationships and established contacts with agents, managers, publicists, and/or talent are required.
-
Demonstrated experience in celebrity outreach, talent relations, entertainment publicity, or a related field is a plus.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to pitch projects professionally and persuasively.
-
A genuine interest in social justice, democracy, political issues, or advocacy campaigns, and a strong desire to make a difference.
-
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing outreach priorities.
Position Details
This is a remote freelance position with a flexible schedule. Work will be project-based, with hours and workload fluctuating according to Brave New Films’ production and campaign needs.
To Apply
Please send a resume and cover letter directly to [email protected]
Your letter should include:
1. Experience and Existing Contacts
Tell us specifically which types of agents, managers, publicists, and celebrities you already have relationships with, how those relationships were established, when you last worked with or communicated with those contacts, and what kinds of opportunities you have secured through them. You do not need to disclose confidential information, but you should provide enough detail for us to understand the strength and relevance of your existing network.
2. Outreach Approach
Provide several examples of celebrities or public figures you could approach for a Brave New Films project. Explain why each would be a good fit, which existing relationships or professional connections you would use to reach them, and how you would approach their representatives.
3. Relevant Experience
Previous experience working for a nonprofit is not required. However, please feel free to share any relevant experience, including examples of campaigns, projects, or initiatives where you successfully secured celebrity participation, endorsements, interviews, appearances, or promotional support.
