Co-Producer: Deborah Correa
Deborah Correa, is a Colombian-American director and producer who was chosen for the prestigious AFI Directing Workshop for Women. Her work spans television, film, documentary, and podcasts with both narrative and un-scripted projects. Her credits include Showtime, PBS, History Channel, Spotify, Travel Channel, iHeartRadio, and Hulu. While working on Peter Berg's Film 45/History Channel series, THE WARFIGHTERS, Deborah worked with over 90 U.S. Spec-Ops Veterans who were both in front of and behind the camera. She recently directed a Civil War historical drama, THE WAR BETWEEN, an independent feature film shot entirely on location in Arizona. Her earliest work documented the return of a displaced village from the violent narco-wars in her father's homeland of Colombia. That experience continues to shape her direction in her work. This is Deborah’s third documentary working with Brave New Films. Before co-producing BEYOND BARS: A SON'S FIGHT FOR JUSTICE, she co-produced RACIALLY CHARGED: AMERICA’S MISDEMEANOR PROBLEM which was shortlisted for the IDA awards and was a 2022 TV finalist for Media for a Just Society Award.
