The Distribution Team develops and implements strategies to expand the reach and impact of Brave New Films’ content through our multi-platform network, which includes social media, the BNF website and mailing list. The Distribution Team is responsible for launching issue-based campaigns, managing and growing BNF’s social medial presence, nurturing and building collaborative relationships and finding new opportunities for film distribution. The Distribution Team at Brave New Films is responsible for launching issue-based campaigns, managing and growing BNF’s social medial presence, and nurturing and building collaborative relationships to expand film distribution. The Digital Marketing and Distribution Fellow will support the Distribution Team on the following ways:

 

The Digital Marketing and Distribution Fellow will support the Distribution Team in three ways:

  1. Through assisting BNF’s social media manager with social media platforms the Fellow will work to engage a wide and ever-growing audience and turn online clicks into offline action.
  2. By using their knowledge in online advertising and analysis, the fellow will help expand our audience. The ideal applicant for this fellowship will have either an education or work experience in paid search and social media advertising with a knowledge of other aspects of digital marketing. The Fellow will help plan and execute ads on Google and social media and explore other advertising platforms that align with our mission. The Fellow will also utilize Google Analytics to study user behavior to inform marketing approaches.

 

General Responsibilities:

 
  • Work closely with the Social Media Manager to help manage multiple social media platforms
  • Keep up with current events, research and monitor trending topics daily for breaking news in key issue areas for rapid-response posts
  • Assist in campaign launches, including: 
 
  • Drafting compelling copy for social posts
  • Identifying relevant influencers and groups
  • Creating memes
  • Engage with followers by responding to comments as appropriate
  • Monitor analytics and create regular reports on Reach and Impressions and other analytic data
  • Assist with monitoring ROI of media campaigns to reflect potential audience growth, audience profile and audience engagement
  • Help plan and implement paid search and social media ads while managing optimization of campaigns
  • Develop and lead strategies for online marketing and advertising including Google AdWords and Facebook ads
  • Boost website visits by tracking Google Analytics and leading Search Engine Optimization efforts

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Experience with Google Ad Manager and Google Analytics. Candidates who are AdWords certified with PPC (pay per click) experience will be strongly considered
  • Ability to analyze key parts of campaigns: creative, targeting, KPIs
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva or other graphic design program and a knowledge of basic graphic design
  • Basic video editing skills in Adobe Premiere (not required but a plus)
  • Adept with Google Suite, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Passion for progressive politics, social justice and activism; desire to use film as a tool for social change
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Thrives in fast-paced, quick turnaround environment
