CalSTRS Divest From Guns!
California teachers were appalled to find out their retirement funds were supporting Freedom Group - the gun company that produced the AR-15 used in the violent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary. Despite an agreement several years ago to divest from Freedom Group, CalSTRS still hadn't removed money from guns. In 2015, we worked with a group of passionate teachers who used this video as a tool to organize and push CalSTRS to honor their commitment. That, along with on the ground action - hand delivery of our petition - finally pushed CalSTRS to divest from guns.
