Social Community Internship - Summer 2026

We’re seeking a Social Community Training Intern to learn how digital communities are built and engaged in an advocacy setting.

This is a training-based internship designed for educational purposes. Interns are supervised and do not independently manage accounts or replace paid staff.

General Info

  • Timing: Start Summer 2026 with end date flexible - Ideal Candidate can stay through the 2026 November Election
  • Hours: 15 - 20 hours/week (flexible)
  • Format: Remote
  • Compensation: Unpaid (academic credit eligible)

 

Role Overview

This internship provides hands-on experience in social media strategy, community engagement, and digital storytelling within a mission-driven advocacy organization. The Social Community Intern will support the team in fostering meaningful audience interactions, identifying trends, and assisting in the development of content that resonates across platforms. You’ll gain insight into how online communities are built, nurtured, and mobilized to support social justice campaigns.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions
  • Research trends and cultural moments
  • Assist in preparing draft materials for campaigns and initiatives

 

Analytics & Insights

  • Learn to interpret social media metrics
  • Assist with basic internal reporting
  • Observe how insights inform strategy
