Join us for the screening of Suppressed: The Fight to Vote, followed by a brief panel discussion featuring City Council Candidate Aura Vasquez along with amazing community advocates in Council District 10! This event is FREE, but we are asking attendees to register via Eventbrite in order to accommodate all our guests for the evening.

The 2020 elections are right around the corner and we want to make sure we inform and ignite our community stakeholders and young voters to get out and ROCK THE VOTE! There are diverse stumbling blocks that can and will present themselves, therefore we must work together to educate and help each other cast our votes in 2020!

ABOUT THE FILM

A Suppressed: The Fight to Vote, a new documentary by Robert Greenwald (Director of Outfoxed, Walmart: The High Cost of Low Price, and Making A Killing: Guns, Greed, & the NRA), weaves together personal stories from voters across the state of Georgia to paint an undeniable picture of voter suppression in the 2018 midterm election. Stacey Abrams fought to become the first Black female governor in the U.S. while her opponent, Secretary of State Brian Kemp, was in charge of running the election. In a race that was ultimately decided by 54,723 votes, the film exposes that the basic constitutional right to vote continues to be under siege in America.
