The Center for Social Development in the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis in partnership with the St. Louis Area Voting Initiative, St. Louis Area Voter Protection Coalition, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Gamma Omega Chapter, and Metropolitan Congregations United invite you to its St. Louis Metro Area Voter Suppression Film Festival. The Festival is Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
The festival’s purpose is to educate the community and with dialogue discuss ways to take action about voter suppression tactics and significant impacts it has on voter participation.
The festival includes two screenings; Rigged: The Voter Suppression Playbook and our new film Suppressed: The Fight To Vote.
"Suppressed examines Georgia as a case study and a stark warning of what’s to come in 2020 if we don’t act to protect voting rights – not just here in Georgia, but all around our nation. More importantly, Suppressed reminds us that we can fight together to achieve a future where all Americans can freely exercise their fundamental right to vote” –Stacey Abrams
