If you’re in LA, go check out Our Disappeared (Nuestros Desaparecidos) tomorrow, June 14, at 2pm at the Skirball Cultural Center.
From Argentine director Juan Mandelbaum, this film tells the story of Patricia, Mandelbaum’s former college girlfriend who was among the thousands that the Argentine military kidnapped, tortured, and disappeared in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The film features rare archival footage and interviews with family and friends of the victims, as Mandelbaum takes you on a deeply personal journey to find out what happened to Patricia and others who vanished during Argentina’s brutal military dictatorship.

Why isn't the LA Times running articles on the ethnic cleansing that's going on in their own back yard? Don't want to bite the hand that feeds you?!!
For at least a decade now Hispanic gangs have been forcing Blacks out of their homes by brutal intimidation or just plain homicide, block by block! Black community, and religious leaders have been asking the authorities for help but, when you have a Latino Mayor who's not about to gore his own ox by upholding the law across the board, you get “implied”, illegal authorization!
The Black community leaders have repeatedly asked people like Al Sharpten, and Jesse Jackson to come to LA and aid in stopping the outrageous acts of violence perpetrated on the Black citizens of LA. As one Black Minister put it, “there's not enough MONEY involved to get them to come”!!
The LA Times would rather run articles on problems in foreign countries than spot-light the trash going on in their own backyard. This, and for many other reasons, the LA Times is considered a “birdcage liner”!!
