In light of the recent leak by The Intercept of The Drone Papers, join the GW Pakistani Students' Association as we further the discussion on the use and effectiveness of drone strikes in combating terrorism in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia.
We will be screening Unmanned: America's Drone Wars, a documentary which investigates the impact of U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan and elsewhere. Unmanned highlights the legal and transparency issues surrounding the drone program as well as the psychological effects of drones.
Following the screening we will hear from Elizabeth Beavers, the Policy and Activism Coordinator for Amnesty International USA’s Security with Human Rights Program; and Noor Mir, a field organizer at Amnesty International USA who has served on both the Ferguson and Baltimore delegations responding to police-involved shootings.
The event is co-sponsored by the GWU Progressive Student Union andAmnesty International at the George Washington University.
