I acknowledge that a divided country is harmful for our present and future. I commit to creating an America to be proud of, by fostering acceptance of all walks of life, and breaking with self-made and societal barriers that divide us. It is my duty to pursuit common ground to make change and realize the America I know and love.
I believe we are capable of empathy and bridging over differences.
I believe there is more that brings us together than there is dividing us.
Despite the larger forces at play, our unique life experiences, and the presence of structural violence and racism in our society, I'm making a commitment to take a stand against the powers and rhetoric that aim to divide us. I will do the work towards harmonizing our country however I can in my day-to-day.
I pledge to be brave enough to break away from bias and build a stronger, more united country.
