Corporate Landlords: The Fight for Affordable Housing in California
Moldy walls. Lead contamination. Leaking roofs. Rising rents.
The new wave of corporate landlords is making billions by inflating the rental value of houses in lower economic neighborhoods while forcing their tenants live in slum-like conditions.
Corporate Landlords: The Fight for Affordable Housing in California exposes the abuses and out-of-control corporate greed of Blackstone Group, the largest owner of real-estate in the world, and Costa-Hawkins, the biased state policy that severely limits rent control and only benefits the wealthy, like Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman.
Brave New Films along with the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) are calling on Californians to vote YES on Proposition 10–a state statute that would repeal the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act and return power to local communities to expand rent control.
Let’s put an end to Costa-Hawkins’ unfair housing policies and demand rent control. This November 6th, vote YES on Prop 10!
Paid for by Brave New Films 501(C)(4).
