A: I am feeling cautiously optimistic about the election. When I encounter people who are inclined to vote for tRump, I ask them "Don’t you want someone to lead this country who makes you proud? A: I’m definitely a lot more hopeful now that Harris and Walz are running (Walz was the best possible choice and I’m so glad she picked him). It was absolutely time for Biden to step down.

In terms of issues, I think abortion/IVF/birth control and how the Republicans are going to go after general reproductive freedom is very important. I think positioning any message in a way that shows how anti-freedom the Right is will be helpful. They claim to be the party of small government but are hell-bent on the government telling people how to live their lives. Taking a stand against the genocide happening in Gaza and really pushing Harris/Walz to call for an arms embargo or at least distancing themselves from Biden’s unwavering/unconditional support for Israel will be helpful.

We also need to hammer home how detrimental the Supreme Court has already been and will continue to be if Trump is elected. We need to take some of the Harris campaign economic policies that have been released so far and really blast it out everywhere because these are winning policies:

- Up to $25,000 in down-payment aid for first-time homebuyers
- Up to $6,000 for low- and middle-income families with new babies
- Up to $3,600 per child per year in an expanded child tax credit
- A ban on price gouging in the food sector
- Banning the use of medical debt in credit scores

We really need to give people something to vote FOR instead of someone/something to vote against. How will the Democrats work to actually fix and change lives for the better? That’s what we need to drive home.

That population, nationally and globally, have been longing for 2000 years, to be seen, protected, and made a priority. The only thing that should be on EVERY politicians agenda is what are they going to do to improve the quality of life for our stewards of tomorrow, especially the ones in the cracks and their moms. Judges stop giving preferential treatment to attorneys and treating pro se litigants like they are an inconvenience and an annoyance. They are “poor” se litigants. The majority are victims of domestic violence and severely traumatized children. This form of violence is particularly dangerous because it takes many forms, all of which having control and dominance of another person. Forms of coercive control, including physical, abuse, emotional abuse, financial abuse, or “paper abuse.” For 40 years I have served in various employment settings where I worked with domestic violence victims, young people and adults with unresolved and untreated childhood trauma, CASA, counseled suicide survivors and family members of loved ones who were successful with their early exit plan. When you leave your abuser before he/she gives you your freedom papers you CAN expect the control and abuse to continue in Family Court. Where it takes a very dark and menacing turn. Stalking, harassment, fighting protective orders – the appetizer. Paper Abuse: The abuser attempt to maintain control by falling unnecessary lawsuits, requesting numerous hearings over custody arrangements, making false reports of child, abuse, or neglect, or taking other legal actions within family court. Abuse is not Whitney understood our study, but has been covertly draining survivors, both financially and emotionally for decades . It is on the rise as perpetrators realized family courts are an ideal setting to target their victims, biggest vulnerability; their children. So even after surviving, their abuser is likely to attempt to regain power and control and violence usually escalates. Abusive fathers are almost twice as like that’s a file for so custody of their children then a non-abuse his father not necessarily paternal responsibility, but whether to maintain control over their former partner. Survivors of domestic violence are legally required to participate in the lengthy process of protection, order hearings and divorce, custody agreements, therefore having repeated forced contact with their abusers, the criminal justice system overlook the impact of legal threats and intimidation on a victim. This process is cruel and inhumane and can go on for years. Gas lighting, manipulation, smear campaigns, intimidation, various silence tactics, excessive legal fees and inexperienced judges. Sometimes the economic factor, biases, and prejudices impacts judicial decisions in favor of the abuser, which negatively impacts an already victimized and traumatized individual and the children.
1. Every State should have lost specifically target domestic violence related stalking by way of courts.
2. Have and placed the Abusive Civil Action Law, to allow judges to determine whether a defendants ex partner or family member member is following frivolous lawsuits intended to specifically to harass, stock, otherwise cause harm. The bill gives judges the power to prevent abuses from following lawsuits for up to six years.
3. Every state should bring awareness to anti-SLAPP legislation along with defendants to have the unnecessary cases dismissed and to be reimbursed for their legal fees. The public participation project has been advocating to pass federal anti-SLAPP legislation through Congress to further protect survivors of domestic violence and legal harassment.
4. And independent pro se litigant and domestic violence advocate with no ties to a jurisdiction assigned to each Family Court. Survivors often do not know their legal options in these situations or resources available. For example, tort claims require those who are found to be at fault for causing harm to others to provide monetary compensation to the victim. Although really used and domestic violence cases to combat frivolous lawsuits can be extremely effective and fighting harmful actions that do not qualify as crimes, like intentional emotional distress.
5. Mandatory training for judges, legal professionals, court report writer, on the pervasive nature of paper abuse and coercive control.
6. Innovative therapy for young people and adults with untreated trauma. This population of victims do not trust easily, because historically their violators are supposedly trusted adults. For example: parents, adult relatives, adult friends of the family, clergy, coaches, teachers, or law enforcement. THESE VICTIMS ENTIRE LIVE ARE SEVERELY IMPACTED, NEVER AFFORDED THE OPPORTUNITY AT A QUALITY LIFE. THEY DESERVE RESTORATIVE JUSTICE. IT IS WHAT WE OWE!
7. Lastly, federal courts have also set a president in allowing judges to discipline perpetrators to file frivolous or improper claims. Family courts have the authority to discipline a batter who follows excessive motions by finding them in contempt of court, or by ordering them to pay the attorney fees and legal cost of the victim. If these judges are properly briefed on how to recognize size of paper, abuse, and action can be taken to protect survivor from legal harassment.
