These books are amazing… beautifully produced, with incredible editing and literary sensibility. Voice of Witness has done a better job than I’ve seen anybody do with having people tell their stories in a way that really engages you. – Rachel Maddow, MSNBC

We are very proud to announce that in the coming year, Brave New Films and Voice of Witness will work together to expand the impact of our work with students. Voice of Witness has published a dozen books that highlight the personal stories of people affected by human rights abuses. At Brave New Films, we believe that the best way to encourage people to connect to human rights issues and to become advocates for social change is to highlight personal stories that demonstrate the impact of injustice – So this partnership is truly wonderful. At both Brave New Films and Voice of Witness, we provide resources to schools and universities to bring our films into classrooms, and through this partnership, we will include each other’s content in our educational programming, which will hugely expand the impact of our work.

Voice of Witness was founded by Lola Vollen M.D, M.P.H, Founder and Executive Director of the Life After Exoneration Program, and Dave Eggers, author of books including A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius and What is the What. Their books include Surviving Justice: America’s Wrongfully Convicted and Exonerated and Patriot Acts: Narratives of Post-9/11 Injustice. Most recently Voice of Witness Published PALESTINE SPEAKS: Narratives of Life Under Occupation.

At Brave New Films, we look forward to including portions Voice of Witness’ publications in our educational screenings and work with student organizers and are very excited that Voice of Witness will include our films in site visits and workshops in schools and communities.

Together, we can continue to engage our youth on human rights issues, and we look forward to the growing impact of our work in the coming year.
